2.75% – 6.5% sliding
e.g. $40,000 car → approx. $1,820

WA uses a sliding scale — vehicles between $25k and $50k are charged a rate that gradually increases from 2.75% to 6.5%. Heavy vehicles (over 4.5 tonnes) are capped at 3% with a maximum duty of $12,000. Rates sourced from RevenueWA.
